“Let’s come tog… work together, right now”
There are no small parts, only small actors.
And I am no small actor. I have put on events with thousands of attendees and given talks to hundreds of guests, though I get as much of thrill writing a single tasting note for a boutique winery or building a website for a small business.
The quality of my work is consistent if the job takes 10 minutes or 10 months.

I’m a seasoned professional who takes the job seriously and always provides a polished final product.
I have been gathering high-quality experience, contacts, degrees, and hilarious anecdotes since I was 18 years old - all of which I bring to the table.
You aren’t just getting some AI-generated copy or a wannabe turning up to your event, you are getting work from the heart of someone who has a proven track record.

It might look that way but in truth I have worked with just as many businesses in the wine world as I have out, from restaurants and retailers to builders and engineers.
I pride myself on being a quick study and being able to adapt to new disciplines at the drop of a hat.

Currently I am based in Auckland, New Zealand - though I regularly travel for work.

Absolutely! I love travelling so you hardly have to twist my arm on that front.

This is something I insist on. Ideally we can catch up over a coffee (better still, a glass of wine) to discuss your project before we kick things off. If you are overseas then you’ll have to settle for a zoom until I touch down.
It is important that our collaboration is vibing on both sides from the get-go, so this initial chat is vital.

I have regular clients that I have been working with for over a decade, so I like to think I’m pretty chill.
The only complaints that I have had is that I send emails with updates or ideas in the middle of the night. I’m not sure how I feel about apologising about being excited about a project though…

Totally depends on the project. I’ve yet to turn down a job because it was ‘too difficult’ so it is based on my time. Once we talk and I get an idea of your project then I’ll come up with a quote - with a figure that I shall honour. No hidden costs that appear at the last minute. Nobody likes that guy.
On design, writing, or research projects that can take longer than expected, I will be open and honest with you at every step in case we need to allow for more time.
-
For events (masterclasses, tastings, speaking) I do require a 50% deposit on agreeing on a quote for the project. The remainder is to be paid a week after the event. This can be paid in one lot or a few smaller payments, just let me know what works best for you.
For other projects (consulting, writing, designing etc) it depends on the scale of the challenge. For larger projects I will often charge a 25% deposit. This will be made clear after our initial discussion.

I have an eclectic taste, so it could be anything. I am a big fan of Elisabetta Foradori’s ‘Fuorpista’ Pinot Grigio, a skin-contact wine, and am thoroughly enjoying a few of the older vintages which are standing up very well.
I’ve almost always got something fizzy or sweet in my glass. Current favourites are Pierre Gimonnet’s Special Club 2012 and the Channing Daugthers 2024 Bianco Pet-Nat on the sparkling front. On the sweet front, it has to be the latest release of Tre Monti’s ‘Thea’ Passito. Apricots and brown sugar - wonderful!
